What is Remy Hair?
Remy hair extensions are made from real human hair. Hair extensions may be donated by multiple donors and have a relatively complete cuticle. Compared to synthetic hair, it is very soft, shiny, and maintains a high quality! You may not know that synthetic hair is a man-made fiber.
How to distinguish between remy hair and synthetic hair?
It is usually burned to distinguish between synthetic hair and real hair. When synthetic hair burns, the hair melts like plastic and binds into hard balls. However, remy hair will burn quickly and ball up into ash. In addition, when burning, synthetic hair will also produce the smell of plastic, which is also different from the burning smell of real human hair.
Compared with synthetic hair. The advantage of remy hair?
- Can be dyed. Remy hair extensions can be dye from light color to dark color, while synthetic hair can’t be color treated, as it will cause irreparable damage.
- The use time is longer. The use time of Remy hair extensions is 3-6 months, while the use time of synthetic hair is only about 4 weeks.
- Can be heat treated. Synthetic hair will be melted when heated, so it cannot be straightened or curled like remy hair extensions.
- It looks more natural. Remy hair extensions are made of real human hair, so they can blend well with real human hair. After wearing, the color matches correctly and it is difficult to be discovered by people.
How long is Remy Hair used for?
The use time of Hair extensions has a lot to do with the method of care. According to the correct care method, usually, remy hair extensions will be used for more than 3 months. Of course, the better you care for your hair, the longer you will use it.
Another thing to note is that the use time of remy hair extensions has a lot to do with the number of times you wash your hair. We recommend that you wash your hair 1-2 times a week. Take good care. Some categories of remy hair extensions can be used for 6 months or even 12 months, such as clip in hair extensions.
Can remy hair be bleached or dyed?
Remy hair extensions can only dye hair from light to dark, not bleached. Since remy hair has undergone chemical treatment during production, the intact hair scales are not preserved, so the use of bleach will cause great damage to the hair. Therefore, please note that remy hair extensions can only be dyed, not bleached.
If you want hair that can be bleached, we recommend you to use Natural Black Virgin Injection Tape Hair Extensions. They are the most natural hair. They are not dyed during the production process and can be bleached into light colors.
How to Care for Remy Hair Extensions?
Purchasing sulfate-free and alcohol-free products is a necessity. These ingredients strip the hair of its natural oils and will affect its integrity. This, in turn, makes the hair drier and more prone to tangling or matting. The current shampoos on the market are acidic, neutral, and weakly alkaline. We recommend neutral shampoos, which will cause the least damage to the hair.
Look for ingredients that add moisture to the hair-like argan oil, coconut oil, castor oil, and so on. Proper hair care products will reduce tangles and be easier to handle.
Additionally, using a high temperature when heat styling runs the risk of damaging the hair which can then cause breakage and shedding. This is why we recommend only use a low heat setting of 120C/250F. While our own hair may be able to handle a high heat setting, our hair is also constantly getting revitalized from the scalp, whereas hair extensions don't receive the same amount of nutrients or oil in order to look silky and shiny.
